Remarks From The Pastor - September 9, 2018

Good Morning Church Members and Guests

Good morning, church!  I trust you find a Christian welcome here at Temple and that the Lord will speak to you and bless you today.  My heart is heavy for our country and the world.  We, as the nation of the United States of America, need to return back to God.  God’s Word gives us the answer to asking God to restore a nation.

The answer is found in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Did you ever notice that the first word of this verse is “if”?  God gives a nation this promise but there is an “if” attached to it.  We are quick to claim His promises, but we forget about our responsibilities.

Did you ever notice that it is harder to examine ourselves and get right with God than it is to look at God and expect Him to fix us even while we are not willing to forsake our sins?  The answer to our nation’s problems lies with Christians going before God with an attitude of humility, praying with a desire to be close to Him in fellowship.  It involves turning from our sins with a heart to do right.  Then the Bible says that He will heal our land.

Dear Church, our nation needs a lot of healing.
