Good Morning Church Members & Guests

Good morning church. Welcome to Temple. For those of you visiting our service today, we are happy to greet you. I pray you can sense a Christian fellowship in our worship service. Perhaps you came here today feeling spiritually pumped up with anticipation that God is going to reveal an awesome truth to you from His Word.

Maybe you are here with questions about God and your faith. I’m sure several of you are hurting in various ways – physically, emotionally or spiritually. Life sometimes weighs us down and that is why God has given every born-again Christian the Holy Spirit to comfort us in various ways. I want you to know God has led me twice this week to share two of my life verses. The first one I claimed back in the early 80’s is Nahum 1:7: “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day or trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.” When our family was called of God to come here, He gave me Psalm 62:5: “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.”

The first verse reminds me that God has my back and that He knows me and He is my strength when I am troubled. The second verse has taught me to be patient and wait on God to move the mountains in my life. What are your life verses? Do you have a verse that God has sealed in your heart and life? If not, I encourage you to get alone with God and read the Bible. Ask Him to give you a life verse. Identify what it is you are struggling with, then seek out all the verses that speak to your situation. Memorize that verse or passage and start claiming the powerful, living Word of God in your life!
