MISSIONS MOMENT - Mike & Diane Peper - Sierra Leone

October 2018

For almost our entire time in Sierra Leone, we have repeatedly asked churches to pray for more missionaries for this harvest field. I am happy to report to you that the Lord has answered that prayer!

Shaun and Christin Evans, along with their three children, have begun scheduling their deputation. They made a survey trip to Sierra Leone in September and fell in love with the people. They have decided to join Abdul and Vicki and Diane and myself in a team effort to capture the country and impact West Africa.

In order for them to expedite their deputation, I have shared with them our list of supporting churches in hopes you will help speed them on their way. No missionary could have more faithful and caring churches than we have supporting us.

Last month, we had 80 saved and 92 baptized in our churches. We completed a school building and have started on the Bible Institute building.

We are the Evans family: Shaun, Christin, Kaitlyn, Kameron and Wes. The Lord has called our family to serve Him in Sierra Leone, partnering with veteran missionaries Mike and Diane Peper. The Pepers have served faithfully in Sierra Leone for ten years. During this time, the Lord has used them to plant 16 churches (now pastored by nationals), four elementary schools, and a Bible Institute affiliated with Louisiana Baptist University. The ministry also has a very strong influence among the military, holding an annual military conference. As a team, we will work to reach the country with the Gospel and with God’s help, all West Africa.

Then saith he unto his disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
— Matthew 9:37-38

We would love to partner with you in the Great Commission! The need for laborers is great and there are few (if any at all) other church planting missionaries in this country. Please pray for us and the people of Sierra Leone, and prayerfully consider supporting us as we move forward.
