Remarks From The Pastor - January 14, 2018

In the past three weeks, I have sensed opposition from Satan.  Whenever God’s people have a mind to serve God with all their mind, soul and body, the Devil gets angry.  That anger turns into an all-out assault by Satan on God’s children.

Ephesians 6:18 says “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”  We as children of God need to be praying not only for ourselves, but for others.  As the Pastor of this wonderful church body, I am charged in Acts 20:28 to “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”  I do not take this verse lightly.  Whenever we as a church make the commitment to be students of God’s Word, you can be sure the Devil will fight.

So according to God’s Word, I am to counter this assault of Satan by praying for the members of this flock - Matt. 6:13; by being an encourager to you as I preach and teach - Heb. 3:13; and through rebuke - II Tim. 4:2. To rebuke means calling out sin in people’s lives and pleading for them to turn from it. The goal of rebuke is restoration and the motive is love.
